This is the site for the Artificial Intelligence for Science and Social Good Laboratory.  We are a team of Artificial Intelligence researchers focused on solving problems in the Physical Science domain and the Social Good domain (sometimes these domains overlap).

  • Dr. Dorsa Ziaei and graduate student Zeenat Ali both have papers accepted at the 2021 AAAI Symposium Combining Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with Physical Sciences. They will both be presenting their work on 3/22/2021.
  • Dr. Sleeman presented work at the AMS 101st Annual Meeting, titled, “A Deep Multi-Stacked Neural Network Approach for Improved Planetary Boundary Layer Height Estimation” in January 2021
  •  Dr. Jennifer Sleeman has been selected as a keynote speaker at the Sixth IEEE International Conference on Data Science and Engineering (ICDSE 2020) – The title of her talk is “Multidisciplinary AI for Social Good Leading Us To A Better Future” to be given on 12/3/2020
  • Sai Vallurupalli presented “Fine and Ultra-Fine Entity Type Embeddings for Question Answering” at the International Sematic Web Conference on 11/2020
  • Ph.D. student – Dorsa Ziaei defended her thesis “Deep Machine Learning Solutions for Feature Identification and Detection for Very Large Medical Images” on 10/30/2020
